For a bug, say what you did and what happened, and add your macOS version and the Outsmile version (outsmile ▸ About outsmile).

Where are my notes?

In the library folder you chose when you first opened Outsmile, as plain .md files. Pictures you paste go to an images folder in the library. You can open, copy or back up these files with any app.

Can I use another folder?

Yes: Settings ▸ Library ▸ Change…, or File ▸ Open Library…. Your notes stay where they are; Outsmile just opens the other folder. If you move or rename the library in Finder, Outsmile follows it.

I deleted something by mistake

Press ⌘Z first. Outsmile also keeps a snapshot of every page you edit, once a day, for 14 days: File ▸ Restore from Snapshot… brings one back. Pages you move to the Trash are in the Finder Trash.

Can I sync between Macs?

Keep the library in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or any synced folder. When a page changes on disk while it's open, Outsmile reloads it, merges your edits with the other ones, and asks only when they clash.

Which keys are there?

Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts lists them all, and ⌘K finds any command by name. The Welcome page (Help ▸ Welcome Page) walks through the main ones.

Outsmile collects no data. Read the privacy policy.
